The idea that someone can do a three-month aromatherapy course and set themselves up in business as a health professional causes, at best, a level of bemusement; at worst, it triggers downright outrage. The medical community has to a large degree closed itself off to the very idea that alternative therapies have benefits. They want to protect their profession from pseudoscience. End Quote

My Reply: As a trained certified aromatherapist, I personally take offense to this type of thinking:

“The idea that someone can do a three-month aromatherapy course and set themselves up in business as a health professional causes, at best, a level of bemusement; at worst, it triggers downright outrage.”

I agree it is ridiculous for people to take a few workshops and set up business as an aromatherapist. Proper study from a reliable aromatherapy course is what qualifies you to become an aromatherapist. A Health Professional, in my mind is completely different.

As a certified aromatherapist, we do not prescribe or pretend to diagnose sickness. We do not pretend to be doctors. Aromatherapy Courses teach us how to relieve stress, how to compliment health & healing. End of Reply.

I don’t know about you, but things like this steams me up a bit.

All the more reason to tell you all again. An Aromatherapy Course is what you need in order to understand aromatherapy and essential oils properly and how to use them safely and effectively.

I close with that for today.

Please feel free to comment if you wish
